Israel eliminated the Hezbollah leader responsible for the attacks from Syria
This is Hassam Kassam Ghraib, leader of the terrorists in Syria who intended to launch rockets against Israel
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of Hassam Kassam Ghraib, a senior Hezbollah member, during an operation carried out in the Bekaa Valley, in eastern Lebanon.
According to the military statement, Ghraib was directing terrorist cells in Syria with the objective of launching rockets toward the Golan Heights, in Israeli territory.
The operation is part of an intensification of Israeli activity in response to the growing level of threats coming from the Iran-Hezbollah axis, particularly from southern Syria.
The region has recently witnessed armed clashes between Druze and Bedouin groups, which has further heightened concern within the Israeli security establishment.
The attack against Ghraib comes amid rising tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. In recent days, the Lebanese terrorist group has renewed its threats against the Jewish state.
Hezbollah's own number two, Naim Qassem, warned that if Israel launches a "large-scale aggression" against Lebanon, the group will respond with force, together with the army and the Lebanese people.
"This defense will cause missiles to fall within the Israeli entity, and the entire security apparatus they've built over the past eight months will collapse within an hour", Qassem threatened in public statements.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese government, headed by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, remains silent in the face of Hezbollah's actions, which acts de facto as a militia parallel to the regular army.
Israel has repeatedly warned that it holds the Beirut government responsible for any attack emanating from Lebanese territory.
