In a new episode of tension on the northern border, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a series of air strikes against Hezbollah infrastructure in the Beqaa Valley and in different areas of southern Lebanon. This is the first offensive in that eastern region in approximately three weeks, marking a significant change in the recent dynamics of the conflict

.

The bombings were a direct response to repeated aggressions by the terrorist organization Hezbollah, which has continued to launch attacks against Israeli troops and Jewish State territory even within the framework of the ceasefire.

Among these incidents, a recent drone attack that left fatalities stands out, underlining the persistent threat posed by the Iranian-backed group.

The resumption of operations in the Beqaa Valley — a strategic stronghold of Hezbollah — reflects Israel's determination to prevent the organization from continuing to strengthen its military and operational capacity.

Jerusalem has made it clear that it will not tolerate ceasefire violations that jeopardize the security of its citizens.

At the same time, voices critical of Hezbollah are emerging from Lebanon itself.

The President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun
The President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun issued a harsh warning to the group, rejecting its intransigent stance in the face of possible negotiations with Israel. “Treason is not dialogue,” Aoun said, “but dragging the country into a war to serve

foreign interests.”

The president's statements contrast with the hard line of the leader of Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, who recently insisted that the organization will not abandon its weapons and described any negotiation with Israel as a “serious sin”.

This divergence exposes growing internal tensions in Lebanon, where broad sectors question the human and economic cost of Hezbollah-driven conflicts.

Aoun also posed a question that resonates more and more strongly among the Lebanese population: “How long will the South continue to pay the price of other people's wars in our land?” . His words reflect accumulated fatigue after years of confrontations that, far from benefiting the country, have contributed to

its instability.
