Security officers arrested several Palestinian suspects in the area

Compartir:

Israeli security forces carried out a series of covert operations in Judea and Samaria that culminated in the arrest of three suspects accused of planning imminent terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians.

The operation was carried out jointly by the Border Police, the Shin Bet and other security forces, based on accurate intelligence information.

According to the Israeli Police, the operations took place in different parts of the region with the objective of dismantling terrorist infrastructure and preventing new attacks.

Earlier this week, undercover units operated in the villages of Dura and Deir al-Asal, in the Judean Brigade sector. The agents entered clandestinely and quickly surrounded the building where one of the suspects was hiding

The detainee, identified as a member of the Palestinian Authority's police forces, was being investigated for his alleged involvement in planning a terrorist attack. When surrounded by Israeli forces, he decided to surrender without offering resistance

.

Later that night, the forces arrested a second suspect identified as an Islamic State (ISIS) operative, who was also preparing an attack against Israeli targets.

In a separate operation carried out during the early morning hours in the Askar refugee camp, near Shejem (Nablus), undercover agents entered the area while open forces surrounded the building where a third suspect wanted for previous terrorist activities was located.

The man, who had previously been arrested by Israeli forces because of his involvement in terrorist activities, once again chose to surrender, understanding that he had no chance of escaping.

The three detainees were transferred to the Shin Bet to deepen interrogations and obtain information aimed at preventing future attacks.

The security forces stressed that the operations are part of an ongoing effort to neutralize threats before they come to fruition. “Israeli security forces will continue to act with determination to thwart terrorism and protect the citizens of the State of Israel on all fronts,” a police spokesman said

.

The arrests once again highlight the complex security reality facing Israel and the importance of preventive intelligence and counterterrorism operations to prevent attacks against the civilian population.
