Siri with artificial intelligence was finally presented by Apple during the WWDC 2026 conference, featuring an upgrade that transforms the assistant into a much more advanced and conversational experience.
The company confirmed that the new version will arrive alongside a dedicated app and aims to compete directly with platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.

What the new AI Siri presented by Apple is like
The company leaves behind the traditional voice assistant model to become a conversational assistant powered by AI.
As Apple explained, the tool will be able to use updated real-world information to answer questions and also access data stored on the user's device.
Additionally, it will have the ability to interpret content visible on the screen to provide contextualized responses.

Now it will compete with ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude
With this update, Apple positions itself as an alternative against the leading chatbots in the market.
When the user requests information, Siri will display text cards with results obtained from the web, messages, and other available sources within the system.

The experience will also incorporate longer conversations and detailed responses for different types of inquiries.
What changes in the iPhone
Apple confirmed a complete integration with the Dynamic Island of compatible iPhones.
Currently, activating Siri lights up the edge of the screen. With the new version, the interaction will move to a specific animation within Dynamic Island.

Users will also be able to swipe down from that area to initiate searches or start written conversations with Siri.
The feature that helps draft emails and messages
One of the main novelties is Write with Siri, a tool designed to assist in text drafting.

The feature will adapt to the user's usual communication style depending on the recipient.
For example, in applications like Mail or Messages, Siri will be able to generate drafts using a tone similar to what is normally used with colleagues, bosses, or friends.
