The 38-year-old referee will officiate his third consecutive Superclásico this Sunday at La Bombonera
The referee has become a recurring figure in matches between the giants. So far in 2025, he has already officiated the Boca-River match in the Torneo Apertura, in addition to having been present in other major clásicos such as Racing-Independiente and other clashes between the big teams.
The Superclásico between Boca and River already has a confirmed referee. The AFA has appointed Nicolás Ramírez as the official in charge of ensuring fair play in the match that will be played this Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at La Bombonera, for a new round of the championship.
Ramírez, who is 38 years old, recently officiated the Copa Argentina final between Argentinos Juniors and Independiente Rivadavia, and is repeating as the main referee of the most important match in Argentine soccer for the third consecutive time, a fact that consolidates his presence in high-tension clashes.
For this edition of the Superclásico, Ramírez will have Juan Pablo Belatti and Pablo González as assistants, while VAR will be managed by Héctor Paletta.
This will be the third consecutive Superclásico under Nicolás Ramírez's leadership. In the last match, played at Estadio Monumental, River won 2-1 with goals from Franco Mastantuono and Sebastián Driussi, while Miguel Merentiel scored for Boca.
Previously, the referee also officiated the final match of 2024 at La Bombonera, where the Millonario team won 1-0 with a goal from Manuel Lanzini. This way, Ramírez has two consecutive victories for River in the Superclásicos where he was the main referee.
Regarding his overall statistics, he has officiated River 13 times, with a record of 5 wins, 5 losses, and 3 draws, as well as 48 yellow cards and three expulsions (none direct). For Boca, meanwhile, he has refereed 12 times, with 6 wins, 5 losses, and 1 draw, showing 39 yellow cards and two reds, also without direct expulsions.
