The province of Córdoba added 400 new Nissan Frontier pickup trucks intended for preventive patrolling in different regions of the territory. The vehicles were presented at the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium by the governor, accompanied by authorities from the Ministry of Security and the provincial Police. This delivery is part of a fleet renewal process that, in just over a year, has reached a total of 700 units distributed between the capital and the interior.

It was also announced the creation of the Special Territorial Operations Group (GEOT), a police force focused on work in areas with higher conflict levels. The unit will be made up of specialized personnel from different operational divisions, including Infantry, SEOM, Canine, and Cavalry. Its deployment will seek to improve the response to various violent incidents and strengthen patrolling capacity in strategic areas.

The Ministry of Security reported that the new pickup trucks added are equipped with tactical gear, reinforced lights, and anti-vandalism systems. These units will join daily patrols along with the motorized teams already operating in the recently created police districts. In addition, it is expected that GEOT will operate in coordination with other areas of the force to ensure continuous coverage in the most demanding sectors.

Reinforcement of police equipment and fleet

The police strengthening plan also includes the delivery of 600 high-displacement motorcycles intended for urban and rural patrolling tasks. The motorcycles were distributed among the 27 police and judicial districts of the capital, as well as the 25 departmental districts in the interior. With this addition, the force seeks to optimize agents' mobility and improve emergency response capacity.

The Province also completed a series of acquisitions related to personal security and operational equipment. Among them, the delivery of 15,000 ballistic vests, 5,000 uniforms, and 2,500 firearms for active personnel. Added to this is the incorporation of 24,000 less-lethal weapons, which will be used as part of the progressive use of force scheme established by the Security Ministry.

With these measures, the province aims for a scheme of greater territorial presence and technological renewal of police resources. The equipment will be used to strengthen crime prevention and improve operational conditions in daily patrolling. This way, Córdoba is advancing in a logistical update process to maintain security coverage throughout the provincial territory.
