The implementation of the SUBE card in urban transportation in Córdoba now covers the vast majority of passengers who use buses in the capital city. According to official data, the Municipality has delivered 280,000 cards so far at the various authorized locations. In addition, it was reported that eight out of ten users without special benefits have already migrated to the new payment system.

Despite this progress, there are still exceptions for specific sectors that continue to use the Red Bus system. These include Socio-Health Promoters, Tax Resource Inspectors, Urban Service Workers, Security Assistants, and Health Service Workers. This group also includes holders of Red Cards, UTHGRA-PAICOR members, and Security Forces personnel.

These programs will be able to use Red Bus until October 31 while the transition to SUBE is completed. Meanwhile, people over 70 years old already have the exclusive benefit on the new card. Those who have not completed the process can obtain it at municipal offices or at the Bus Terminal.

Distribution points and cost of the new system

The distribution of the SUBE card is being carried out at multiple locations throughout the city, such as the Palacio 6 de Julio or the City Council. Likewise, the main office of the Córdoba Lottery, 16 CPCs (except the City Market), and the transportation ticket offices at the Terminal. This way, the aim is to cover as many areas as possible.

The cost of the SUBE card is $1,500, although this amount is not lost, since it is credited as a negative balance for immediate use of the transportation service. This system allows passengers to travel even when they do not have credit loaded at the time. The measure seeks to prevent inconveniences in daily travel while adapting to the new payment method.

The migration process is being carried out progressively to ensure that all beneficiaries can access their respective programs. Although the Red Bus continues to operate for certain cases, the trend indicates that SUBE will soon be the only system in effect. With this, Córdoba joins the national scheme that is already operating in much of the country.
