The saga surrounding the closure of the Libertadores de América – Ricardo Enrique Bochini stadium has added a new chapter. This Thursday, Judge José Luis Arabito accepted prosecutor Mariano Zitto's request and lifted the precautionary measure that had kept the stadium closed following the incidents that occurred during the Copa Sudamericana against Universidad de Chile.
This way, Independiente will be able to host Banfield this Saturday from 4:45 p.m. with its fans in attendance. However, the sanction imposed by CONMEBOL, which requires the club to play seven international matches without spectators, remains in effect.
However, despite the judicial reopening, the Agency for the Prevention of Violence in Sports (APreViDe) issued an official statement in which it decided to disqualify the Pavoni Alta and Baja stands for the next two matches. In addition, it indefinitely banned the entry of musical instruments, flags, streamers, and banners into the stadium.
In the same statement, it confirmed the implementation of a new comprehensive security plan and ordered a ban on attending sporting events for 42 individuals identified in the incidents, until the courts solve their situation.
