In recent days, concerns at Boca haven't been limited solely to the health of their coach, Miguel Ángel Russo. This Thursday afternoon, the coaching staff received more bad news: Carlos Palacios suffered an injury during practice and has been practically ruled out for Saturday's match against Defensa y Justicia.
The Chilean midfielder is dealing with muscle discomfort and will undergo medical tests to determine the extent of the injury. If a muscle tear is confirmed, he would be sidelined for at least two matches.
The issue comes at a great moment in Palacios's football career, following his outstanding performance against Central Córdoba, considered one of his best since joining Xeneize.
Given this scenario, the initial plan to repeat the starting line-up will be altered, and among the options to replace him are Alan Velasco and Kevin Zenón, although the latter is at a disadvantage since he hasn't had much playing time in Xeneize's recent matches.

This injury adds to another recent one suffered by one of their key players: Edison Cavani. The Uruguayan forward suffered a right psoas strain and will also miss the match against Halcón de Varela. For now, he is training separately and there is still no certainty about a possible return in the next fixture against Newell's.
When does Boca play?
The Ribera club will visit Defensa y Justicia for matchday 10 of the Torneo Clausura this Saturday, September 27 starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Norberto Tito Tomaghello Stadium in Florencio Varela. With seven matches remaining in the regular phase, Xeneize is third in Zone A with 14 points, just behind Unión (16) and Barracas Central (15), and second in the annual standings with 47 points, only surpassed by River (49).
