Municipality of Córdoba announced the final deadlines for the gradual withdrawal of the Red Bus card, in a context marked by recent increases in the price of urban tickets. The Undersecretary of Mobility and Transit, Eduardo Ramírez, confirmed that recharging will be available until November 30, 2025, in order to ensure an orderly transition to SUBE. The official explained that the card can be used until December 31 of the same year, maintaining the validity of provincial, municipal, and national benefits.
The Mobility Department emphasizes that the decision aims to ensure that all users can access the change without losing social benefits during the process. The measure includes sectors that depend on specific discounts and require a longer period to update their payment methods. The measure is part of a fare reorganization scheme that seeks to unify systems and reduce administrative costs.
Ramírez also indicated that no new fare increases are expected in the short term and that the official expectation is focused on the expansion of SUBE. According to his statement, the continuity of social benefits will be key to sustaining the system's impact on sectors that require support. Authorities hope that full implementation will improve controls and strengthen the traceability of the urban service.
