The atmosphere at San Lorenzo remains tense. At the Avenida La Plata headquarters, the vigil of members and journalists turned into an improvised press conference, while everyone awaits the possible arrival of Marcelo Moretti to resume the club's presidency. In this context, Ulises Morales, president of the Members' Assembly, spoke with ESPN and made strong statements about the club's institutional situation.
"We still haven't been notified of anything at all. Once we are notified, we're going to respect the court's decision, but we're going to verify compliance with the ruling that orders Moretti to return as president. He must comply with a counter-guarantee of 40 million pesos (88,185 pounds) and we want to make sure it's deposited... he has lied so much," Morales stated, making clear the doubts that persist regarding the leader's return.
Last Monday, the courts declared the club's vacancy invalid and determined that everything should return to the state prior to the mass resignations within the Board of Directors. This way, Moretti was ratified as president, although his return depends on the payment of a bond that must be verified before the ruling becomes effective.
