They liberalize the use of drones in Argentina: productive applications for Córdoba
Resolution 550/2025 removes obstacles for lightweight drones and opens up their use in agriculture, commerce, and security
The national government announced the complete deregulation of the use of lightweight drones in Argentina. Resolution 550/2025 from Anac eliminates licenses for equipment under 25 kilograms (55 pounds) in rural areas. It also lifts restrictions on the use of drones under 250 grams (0.55 pounds) throughout the entire territory.
Federico Sturzenegger, Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, emphasized that the measure "removes the State from the equation" in the operation of small drones. The regulation enables any person to use them without prior procedures or requirements. This promotes innovation and private activity.
The opening also extends to training. From now on, any instructor or center can offer courses for all drone categories. This ends the monopoly that restricted training to a single operator.

Productive and commercial boost
The measure aims to strengthen strategic sectors such as agriculture, logistics, and security. Drones can be used for spraying, seeding, and crop monitoring. They can also be used for livestock surveillance and detection of health issues.
In commerce and logistics, the regulation favors rapid delivery of medicines, food, and packages in remote areas.Córdoba, with its extensive rural and urban network, is emerging as a natural laboratory for these applications.
Border surveillance and supervision of industrial areas are other intended fields of use. The official objective is to multiply productivity and reduce costs.

Application in Córdoba
In the province, the agricultural sector will be one of the main beneficiaries. Producers will be able to incorporate drones to monitor sowing and plan irrigation. This streamlines decision-making and improves crop yields.
The measure also opens opportunities in public safety, health control, and private surveillance. Companies will be able to optimize the protection of large private properties with continuous aerial monitoring. Drone overflights allow for the detection of intrusions or incidents in real time.

Municipalities in Córdoba are considering adding drones to supervise mass events and prevent crimes. With fewer obstacles, technology becomes democratized and reaches more actors in the local economy.
"The potential is infinite," Sturzenegger emphasized. In Córdoba, the expectation is that deregulation will boost both agriculture and commerce, logistics, and private security, strengthening the province's competitiveness.
