Córdoba records a new surge in violence in 2025, with 77 homicides so far this year. On average, one person is killed every four days, which highlights a concerning persistence of lethal crime. The Capital accounts for nearly half of the reported cases.
The total number of violent deaths shows a sustained trend in recent years. In 2024, 117 murders were reported and in 2023 there were 116, according to official data from the provincial Police. Although the current number appears lower, specialists warn that the final months of the year usually see more serious incidents.
The use of firearms continues to be a constant in the crimes committed. Shootings in urban neighborhoods and attacks motivated by personal retaliation have become the main causes of homicides in Córdoba.
