President Herzog in Estonia: 'The world must not fall for Hamas's lies'
The politician urged world leaders not to be deceived by the terrorists' propaganda campaign
During his official visit to the Baltic States, Israeli President Isaac Herzog made a forceful appeal to the international community not to be deceived by what he described as a disinformation campaign orchestrated by Hamas.
He also called for decisive pressure to be exerted on the terrorist group in order to secure the immediate release of the hostages held in Gaza.
"We urge the world not to fall for Hamas's lies", Herzog declared at a joint conference with Estonian President Alar Karis in Tallinn, the final stop of his regional tour. "Those lies are distorting media coverage and concealing the reality of terrorism".
During his remarks, Herzog displayed images of Israeli hostages Evyatar David and Rom Braslavski, who appear visibly emaciated in videos recently published by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

In contrast, the president presented a photograph of a Gazan photographer capturing images of civilians with empty pots—but far from a food distribution center—, implying that such scenes are staged for propaganda purposes.
"What we are witnessing is a public relations campaign led by Hamas and supported by too many in the international arena," Herzog criticized.
Although Israel "has completely reshaped its humanitarian approach" in Gaza over the past two weeks and has substantially increased the amount of aid entering the enclave, the president lamented that the UN is not fulfilling its essential role.
"The UN can distribute aid, and it is failing to do so", he denounced. "Instead, we are witnessing a staged performance. We see a photographer arranging Gazans to show that they have no food. This is a farce."
Herzog emphasized that Israel doesn't shirk its responsibility to alleviate the suffering of Gaza's civilian population, but he demanded that the international community's focus be directed at the true culprit: "We do not shy away from the humanitarian need, but we ask the world not to believe the lies. Condemn Hamas and tell them: release the hostages".
