The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have expanded their operations in Gaza, with tanks present in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Radwan and Tel al-Hawa, strategic points that serve as access to the city center.

According to residents, a widespread internet and telephone outage has also occurred in the Strip, which reinforces the signal that the ground offensive against Hamas's infrastructure is intensifying.

In a statement, the Israeli army indicated that its troops continue dismantling terrorist positions and eliminating Hamas fighters in Gaza City, while maintaining operations in Khan Younis and Rafah, in the south of the enclave.

Israel's stated objective remains clear: to destroy the operational bases of the terrorist group and free the hostages who still remain captive after the October 7 massacre.

Hamas's command bridge in Gaza City has for years been the epicenter of its military power, with tunnels, arsenals, and underground communication centers. Its control is considered by Israel an indispensable condition for weakening the group's capability and reducing threats against the Israeli population.

Although hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians have fled south since the announcement of the offensive on August 10, many others remain in damaged homes or improvised camps.

Israel has distributed leaflets and issued statements urging the population to move to designated humanitarian zones in the south, where international organizations manage assistance. However, movements remain complicated amid the fighting and destroyed infrastructure.

Israel's strategy focuses on suffocating Hamas's last strongholds, which uses the civilian population as a human shield by hiding weapons and tunnels in densely populated residential areas. This method, internationally condemned, is one of the main obstacles to minimizing civilian casualties in the conflict.

Despite external criticism, Israel insists that its operations are necessary to restore security and prevent Hamas from attacking again.

The presence of tanks at key access points to Gaza City indicates that the decisive phase of the offensive is underway, with the goal of dismantling the organization's military capability and ensuring the release of the hostages still in the hands of terrorism.
