Boca even more divided: Support banners appeared ahead of the match with Independiente
The messages changed from insults and complaints to support and calls for unity on the day of the quarterfinal match against Rojo
After the whistles and insults directed at both the squad and the management of Boca, the atmosphere shifted ahead of Monday's match against Independiente at La Bombonera. In recent hours, banners with a strong message of support for the players have appeared, who will try to advance to the semifinals of the 2025 Torneo Apertura.
"All together always," read the signs located around the stadium. Thus, everything seems to indicate that the tensions between fans, players, and directors might have been left behind ahead of this key commitment.

Xeneize is aware that they owe their people some joy. So far this year, the team, now under the interim leadership of Mariano Herrón, hasn't met expectations. The elimination in the Copa Libertadores play-off and significant defeats, such as the one suffered in the Superclásico against River when the coach was Fernando Gago, marked an irregular semester.
The back and forth between supporters and detractors
Boca is experiencing very intense days both in sports and institutionally. After the penalty shootout victory against Lanús, the divide among fans began to widen and positions became even more radicalized. On one side are those who support Riquelme unconditionally and on the other those who are fed up with the poor football performance in recent times.
This division caused the club to try to seek a new unity, although it wasn't well received by much of the blue and gold supporters. Through some posts on their social media, like "We Cheer" and "On Monday we play at home. All together always," Xeneize sought to calm the waters, but the fans replied with criticism and their own messages.
Firstly, the comments on those posts are mostly negative, highlighting that the directors are trying to cover up the bad moment. Days later, posters and banners appeared targeting club directors, reinforcing the idea that the club needs a change.

The situation seems endless, but Boca will try to ease it a bit if they manage to win the Apertura and perform well in the Club World Cup.
