One of the candidates to replace Gago at Boca could go to Europe.
Xeneize is still looking for Pintita's successor, but a club from the Old Continent threatens to take one of the candidates targeted by the management
Juan Román Riquelme is still searching for the next coach of Boca, even though the club hasn't yet finalized the contractual relationship with Fernando Gago, who has a pending debt from the institution. However, after it was confirmed that the team will have a week off for the management to advance in the selection of the new coach, an unforeseen event arose.
Sevilla, intending to leave behind a season in which it was close to relegation to the Second Division, is already thinking about the next campaign. Although the main candidate is José Bordalás, current coach of Getafe, in recent hours it has emerged that they have also set their sights on Gustavo Quinteros.

The news comes from Spain, where journalist Matías Palacios highlighted on El Chiringuito de Jugones that the former coach of Vélez Sarsfield, Colo-Colo, and Gremio is under consideration by the Spanish club for the next season. This situation gains relevance considering that Joaquín Caparrós would leave his interim position after the match against Villarreal CF, which will be played this Sunday.
So far, Riquelme hasn't made concrete progress for Quinteros, who is on vacation and will return to Argentina over the weekend. Nevertheless, Boca's president intends to finalize the arrival of the new coachbetween Saturday and Sunday, at the latest by Monday, to fill the position left vacant after Gago's departure.
The other candidates to be Boca's coach
In the Xeneize environment, and with the confirmed departures of Gabriel Milito and Kily González, two other possible candidates are being considered to take over the technical management of the first team.
The first of them would be Gerardo Tata Martino, although the club denies interest in the former Inter Miami coach. Currently, the 62-year-old coach is in Europe and some time ago communicated his desire to return to work after June.

On the other hand, Luis Zubeldía, current coach of São Paulo, would be the second target. His current performance with the Tricolor Paulista is highly questioned and they do not rule out a possible departure. This uncertainty in timing would be the main impediment to a formal call from Boca.
