In various posts on his social media, Mauro Icardi had mentioned Johnny Depp, whom he considered a "role model" for the way he went through his scandalous trial with Amber Heard.

Amid his crisis with Wanda Nara, the footballer even compared himself to the actor, even sharing images of himself and phrases alluding to the legal process faced by the Hollywood star.

However, judging by the reaction of the Pirates of the Caribbean star, the connection was completely one-sided.

Although Depp seemed unaware of the subject, his colleague Riccardo Scamarcio —who played Amedeo Modigliani in the film— did remember the footballer.
