Former presidential candidate Luisa González publicly reappeared in Barcelona, Spain, after several weeks out of the political spotlight, during her participation in the Global Progressive Mobilization, an international summit of left-wing leaders.

The corrista leader had left Ecuador in mid-March and her reappearance comes after a period of low public exposure, which generated
attention in the national political sphere.
The meeting was part of what Petro called the “first nucleus of global progressivism”, which brought together different political actors in Barcelona to discuss common agendas of the international left.
This episode occurs in parallel with a cross of statements between President Daniel Noboa and Gustavo Petro, following allegations of alleged links with criminal structures, which has increased diplomatic tension between the two countries.
