The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that in a targeted airstrike five armed terrorists were killed near a vehicle bearing the emblem of the international humanitarian aid organization World Central Kitchen (WCK).
According to the military, WCK itself confirmed that it had no connection to the vehicle or the individuals, and that these individuals posed a threat to Israeli troops.
Israeli soldiers in GazaThe IDF indicated that the combatants "deliberately placed the emblem and wore yellow vests in an attempt to conceal their activity and avoid being targeted, cynically exploiting the status and trust enjoyed by humanitarian aid organizations."
The vehicle was located in the Deir al-Balah area. An Israeli Air Force fighter jet attacked it, eliminating the five suspects.
The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) confirmed that WCK was not linked to the operation of the vehicle. "Hamas and other terrorist organizations exploit the humanitarian effort to advance terrorist objectives at the expense of the well-being of the population in Gaza," the statement noted, adding that Israel will continue to cooperate with international NGOs to prevent this type of abuse.
The elimination of terrorists disguised as NGO workers comes after a Hamas member posing as a journalist was executed.
That is Hamas's modus operandi: they hide their identity to do harm and for the world to judge Israel.
